SEDIC APPOINTED AS THE IMPLEMENTATION UNIT FOR THE MALAYSIAN INDIAN BLUEPRINT (MIB)

The Malaysian Indian Blueprint represents the Government’s commitment to provide assistance where needed, and platforms and policies to uplift the Malaysian Indians, especially to those who need it most, the bottom 40%. 

Over the next 10 years, continuous efforts will be taken and implemented by various individuals to realise the goals and targets outlined in the Blueprint.

  • The process involved a change in the scope of work and an increase in manpower size, incorporating 58 full-time positions.

  • The roles and functions of existing units, namely the Special Implementation Task Force (SITF), Secretariat of Empowerment of Indian Entrepreneurs (SEED) and Action Plan for the Future of Tamil Schools in Malaysia (PTST), will be absorbed into the new implementation entity.

  • Six units have been set up under SEDIC to support the implementation of the targets of the blueprint.

  • They are Education and Youth Development; Economic and Income Upliftment; Welfare and Social Development; Identity and Inclusion; Research and Best Practices; as well as Special Projects.
