Launching Ceremony of Preschool Programme 2018

12 March 2018

Since 2014, the government through SEDIC has channelled RM24.45 million to set up a total of 211 preschools throughout Malaysia. Over the past 4 years, a total of 29,000 Indian students have benefited from the preschool programme funded by SEDIC.

This year, 211 preschools are in operation and 7,000 students are currently attending preschool classes. Funds distributed by SEDIC will be used for expenses such as teachers' allowances, assistants’ allowances, supply of learning materials (preschool books), learning aid and insurance for the children.

SEDIC will continuously pursue the implementation of initiatives earmarked in the Malaysian Indian Blueprint (MIB) to ensure all Malaysian Indian children receive early childhood education.
